I was approached by Velvet Café in 2015 to work on a logo for the new company.
We began our process by talking about what the brand meant to them. Answering questions such as: their position in the market, what brands they aligned themselves with in other industries, all the way down to the food on their menu.
Through some visual exercises we figured out what felt right for them and iterated from there on. In the end we produced a clean wordmark that best represented the values we wanted to convey; giving Velvet Café a platform to build out the rest of their brand.
